It's an honor to congratulate a number of my longarm quilting customers on the results of summer competitions! You'll see photos of some of our winning quilts in the Quilting Portfolio, and there are more photos coming. In Pennsylvania, we earned a very nice People's Choice Award; in Kansas, a Grand Champion Purple Ribbon; in Minnesota, a Supervisor's Choice Award, a Superintendent's Choice Award, and many beautiful Blue Ribbons as well. These awards are an affirmation of creativity, skill, and perseverence.

Finally, I want to share the recent news that the school where I teach was one of only two schools to receive the Minnesota Future Award for 2008 given by the Minnesota Business Partnership. Following last year's NCLB National Blue Ribbon School Award, you can imagine how pleased and excited we are at J.W. Smith Elementary! Hurray!
